Before I was even pregnant I was an organized person. Since having two babies, I have tried to step up my game. It’s the only way, I find, to stay ahead of these little cuties.
My husband will attest to the fact that there are lists everywhere these days. Before babies I wouldn’t necessarily write out a grocery list, but rather keep it in my head. Now, everything goes on the ongoing grocery list on the side of the refrigerator.
The lists extend beyond what’s needed at the store. There’s a constant to-do list. It can be a list of things to do that day (brush teeth) or it can be a list of things to do “some day” (transition pantry into office space).
There are also the lists of how much I pumped, whether the twins got their vitamins, who slept when. Yes, I know these things can be kept track of via a smartphone app, but I revert to my lists. They calm me.
The lists help me stay organized in what otherwise sometimes feels like chaos. I’m sure I’m not alone in making these lists, and I’m sure it will continue from now until these guys are in college… at least.
