Position Objective:
Reporting to the Vice-President, Marketing, the Digital Experience Designer is accountable to ensure our ecommerce sites, powered by Shopify, are providing the best possible UX to our visitors through thoughtful engagement and conversion-focused design, as well as ongoing optimizations and maintenance. This is combined with ensuring we are leveraging the power of Shopify, and all that the platform has to offer our brand and consumer, to help us excel in our ecommerce efforts.
This role is multi-faceted supporting both the technical and design elements of all 3 of our websites and working collaboratively with both internal and external partners (where appropriate) to ensure all sites are operating at their optimal level, integrated with our ERP system, optimized for SEO and implementing the best overall UX through thoughtful design and implementation of Shopify/Third Party Apps. The Designer works in a manner consistent with Bravado’s Values and Behaviours.
Position Responsibilities:
Website Design & UX:
- Design, audit, and optimize Bravado Designs family of Shopify websites (US, CA and UK) including user journey, mobile-first design experience, adhering to brand guidelines and increasing opportunities for lead acquisition and conversion wherever possible.
- Work cross-functionally to test, implement, and adjust our site to accommodate organizational/business changes i.e. Returns portal, B2B portal, Global Pricing Updates, Shipping and Returns policies and forms, testing of new site offerings i.e. bundles.
- Research, implement & maintain Shopify apps / 3rd party platforms.
Website Optimization & Ongoing Maintenance:
- Plan and implement ongoing (regularly scheduled) engaging and conversion-focused digital assets including Emails (Ad hoc and Cadence), homepage modules, product highlights, main banners, product pages, blog post designs, collection pages.
- Leveraging insights from the monthly ecommerce dashboard, implement optimizations that will help improve organic search, bounce rate, time on site and ultimately conversions.
- Implement all promotional periods ensuring there is no conflict with other site offers
- Execute special Shopify scripts to optimize overall experience in terms of development, writing of requirements, testing, management of timelines, Q/A to final product ensuring we are consistently utilizing the functional opportunities that Shopify Plus offers.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and work to resolve swiftly.
- Source opportunities and new Shopify features that enhance the user shopping experience and improve conversion rate leveraging Shopify approved apps.
- Crop imagery for website use and support Marketing and Wholesale teams
- Monitor and bring insights for best in class ecommerce sites both within and outside of our category
- Keep apprised of and own all privacy settings and forms across each ecommerce site to ensure Bravado is working within the regulatory guidelines for each market (US, CA and UK).
- Work closely with Customer Service to understand consumer experience concerns with respect to our websites and make recommendations and implement solutions to improve their experience.
- Work with our SEO/advertising partner to implement required technical updates/changes to ensure our pixels are tracking properly and our catalogues are complete and set up properly for display in Google shopping.
- Ensure all appropriate tagging is implemented on products and images for optimal site performance.
CRM Platform Optimization & Maintenance:
- Work with Digital Marketing Manager to create and implement A/B testing opportunities within our websites and CRM & Ad Hoc communications to ensure we are continually learning what drives response.
- Design (working within defined templates) and deploy all emails within HubSpot for both B2B and B2C based on defined segments and strategies.
- Update as required all transactional emails to ensure we are continually optimizing and updating visuals.
- Implement testing of acquisition tactics, monitor, and optimize to help increase our database opt-ins.
- Own and maintain (regular cleanses) our CRM platform HubSpot including database opt-ins, customer segmentation (development and maintenance of personas), workflow automations, email deployments and form designs.
Qualifications & Required Experience:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in website design & UX; In-depth Shopify experience, building and designing ecommerce-specific sites, digital design
- Advanced knowledge and skills of Shopify Liquid templating language
- Shopify Apps and ability to install, test, resolve issues
- Skills, knowledge and experience working with Marketing Automation CRM platforms; preferably Klaviyo or Hubspot
- Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Search Console & Google Tag Manager
- Skills using Microsoft Suite, Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator, JavaScript i.e. jQuery
- Knowledge of SEO optimizations, Github, Adobe Premier, InDesign, Figma is preferred
- Post-secondary education with a specialty and certification in website design & development specifically Shopify
- Team members work on a hybrid basis between in office and remote days
- This role requires flexibility to work outside of core hours to resolve issues i.e. with websites
